Min Woo Lee put on a chipping clinic on Friday. The Australian chipped in three times at Valhalla Golf Club during his second round of the PGA Championship, helping him card a five-under 67 to surge up the leaderboard from T85 to T16 with the afternoon wave still on the course.
"It was just one of those days where it kind of went my way," Lee said. "Yeah, they just dropped."
Lee's first chip-in came on his third hole from the greenside rough on the 478-yard 12th. The left-to-right chip charged to the cup and snuck in the right lip, doing a nearly 360 before falling into the cup.

Four holes later, the 25-year-old was in a daunting position on the 509-yard 16th. Facing a downhill lie and a bunker between him and the green, Lee opened his wedge and took a near-full swing to get the ball to land as softly as possible. His ball barreled towards the pin and smacked the flagstick before dropping home for birdie.
"16, if you can get up-and-down there, out of 10 times, three times, you're doing pretty good," Lee said. "That one was definitely a bonus."

Fittingly, his third chip-in of the day came on the 213-yard par-3 third. Lee ended up in the fairway short of the green lying two, with his longest hole-out of the day salvaging a par. Staring at the cup in disbelief, Lee counted out one, two, three for both saving his par and third zero putt of the round.
This week is his third appearance at the PGA Championship, with Lee’s best finish a T18 last year.
